India ranked No. 9

India returned to single digit ranking in the World hockey list after finishing eighth in the recent World Cup.

India is now placed at 9, three places above the 12 that it occupied before the start of the Delhi World Cup. India's tally of points now stands at 1360 in the latest updated ABN-AMRO world rankings of the FIH.

Expectedly, Australia, the winner of the World Cup, takes the No 1 spot, pushing the leader, Germany to the second.

Top ten: 1. Australia (2605 points), 2.Germany(2388), 3. Netherlands (2215), 4. Spain (2053), 5. Korea(2005), 6. England (1930), 7. New Zealand (1560), 8. Pakistan (1523), India (1360) and Argentina (1349).
