India’s talented young drivers Aditya Patel and Ashwin Sundar from Chennai are keen to make an impression when the sixth round of the ADAC VW Polo Cup begins at the famed Circuit de Catalunya, outside the vibrant city of Barcelona, on September 18.
It not only gives the Chennai-based drivers an opportunity to drive and compete on a circuit where so much Formula One action had taken place in the past few years but also puts them on a real test as the championship is heading to a close.
Fair knowledge
Aditya hopes for a good weekend as he has had a fair knowledge of the circuit while driving in the ADAC Formula Masters single-seater racing car.
This round also provides an opportunity for the duo to make amends and score some valuable points. They have showed some steady progress with each passing round and are now up to the pace with the top eight. Unfortunately, both of them have been pushed around a bit. But, that’s what racing is all about.
The dynamic combo has also learnt the hard way that racing in Europe is not a bed of roses. Now that the pace and race craft are emerging, results will have to follow. And, that’s what the two are aiming at.
