August 14, 2017 07:52 pm | Updated 08:00 pm IST

This canvas has been painted by well-known Gond artist Venkat Raman Singh Shyam. The swan in the painting depicts the journey the nation has undertaken since attaining freedom. India’s successful productive ventures are depicted on the national flag.

Venkat Raman Singh Shyam trained under his uncle Jangarh Singh Shyam before striking out on his own. He painted 16 canvases on the 26/11 terrorist attack on the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai after being witness to the carnage. He is a recipient of the Rajya Hasta Shilpa Puraskar of the Madhya Pradesh government.
