• In 2010 the Goethe-Institut in India, with Pooja Sood, director of Khoj, initiated ArtThinkSouthAsia , a management and policy-research programme targeted towards professionals in the cultural sector. They partnered with the British Council and the Piramal Art Foundation. CISA was inspired by this partnership.
  • In 2011 , Kolkata’s Experimenter Gallery did a two-day-long Young Curator’s Hub event, inviting professionals whose work focused on contemporary South Asian art, to “discuss, debate, and present the most contemporary thought behind curating exhibits in today’s context.” Now re-named the Experimenter Curators’ Hub , it held its eighth edition in July 2018.
  • In 2012 the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Mumbai city museum started a post-graduate diploma in modern and contemporary Indian art and curatorial studies.
  • In 2012, Mumbai Art Room, founded by art historian Susan Hapgood, started a curatorial lab for Indian and international emerging curators. The programme, supported by the INLAKS India Foundation, works on a nomination basis.
  • Since 2018 the Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology in Bengaluru has also been offering a specialisation in curatorial practices as part of their M.A. in Art Practices.
