Travel woes

During my many mindless scrolling through the labyrinths of Instagram, a treasure trove of an account made itself known to me. @PassengerShaming, a rich account of 8,73,000 followers, was created by “former flight attendant & ‘Sassy Stew’, Shawn Kathleen,” as per the bio of the account.

The pictures are a total riot! The cringe-worthy posts show people making the most of long-haul flights to get so settled in, it’s uncomfortable for everyone else. Whether they’re making the already tight aisles into their personal yoga studio or the armrest of the seat in front of them a footrest, these posts are the kind that you can’t unsee but also can’t look away from.

It really does make you wonder why people have such a brazen etiquette on flights; it’s still a public space. I don’t see anybody setting up to do surya namaskar on the MetroRail... imagine the Metro pulls at a turn; no one’s going to stop you from toppling over. Plus, it also makes sure you board your next flight with a charged phone; you never know what you may spot!

Live long and binge-watch

Trekkies would have definitely rolled around in utter glee with the recent release of CBS’ new original series Star Trek: Picard starring the veritable Patrick Stewart.

The series follows the next-generation captain Jean-Luc Picard, and the trailer had some questions people wanted answered in a big way. What’s the captain been doing this whole time since the 2002 film Star Trek: Nemesis ? Why was he in a vineyard? Can we try some of the wine like Game of Thrones had a whiskey series out?

The trailer, which released three days ago, hasn’t had the Marvel or Star Wars pull; it has about 2,00,000 views on YouTube alone. Sorry not sorry, Trekkies.
