I just hit a four, can you?

I just hit a four, can you?

Today’s Google Doodle is a sure hit as it involves a tiny but brilliant cricket game to mark the beginning of ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

We see crickets (the insect) on the batting side. The bowling team here comprises of snails, yet another amusing scene for all insects in the audience.

It is a highly addictive game even for users who don’t follow cricket. High scores are displayed on the board above, as snails do their best to switch their forms in fielding. Finally after getting bowled out, a burrowing umpire shows us out. Too bad it will be online just for a day.

Titled ‘CrickHIT for Six’, users can share their high scores and can keep going all day, as the high scores are saved even if your browser tab is closed and reopened again.

The Champions Trophy, back for an eighth edition, begins on Thursday and will go on till June 18, 2017. It is hosted in England and Wales.

Group A has Australia, NZ, England, Bangladesh, while Group B has India, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Pakistan.

Virat Kohli leads India for the first time at a global tournament, the campaign set to begin against Pakistan in Birmingham on Sunday.

Here’s the CT schedule:
