On Children's Day, Google India has announced the winners of its annual "Doodle 4 Google" contest for schoolchildren. Mumbai girl Pingla Rahul More has emerged as the winner among over 75,000 who participated.

The theme for the contest was “What inspires me?" and Ms. More's space exploration doodle featuring a young girl camping in a hillock gazing at the night sky with a telescope won her the top prize. "I am extremely inspired by space exploration as there is still so much more to know about our Universe -- from planets to stars to galaxies and beyond. It is inspiring to learn how small we are, and how small our problems are, in the grand scheme of things," said Ms. More. Her doodle will be visible in India on Wednesday.

The Doodle 4 Google contest was open for students in Class 1 to 10 under five categories based on the age of the participant. Ms. More from J. B. Vachha High School in Mumbai participated in the Class VII and VIII category. The results of the annual contest are announced on November 14 every year to coincide with the Children's Day.

The winners were chosen by Arun Iyer, famous artist and YouTube Kids Creator, art and craft wizard and TV celebrity Rob (Harun Robert), India's leading YouTube Creator Sejal Kumar and the Google Doodles team lead, Ryan Germick. The winner was decided along with 300,000 votes from the public, Google India said in a statement.
