Google’s latest doodle marks the 360 th birthday of Bartolomeo Cristofori – the inventor of the piano.

The doodle shows an animated Cristofori playing the instrument, focusing particular on the mechanism of the paino’s hammer hitting the strings – which ultimately led to the invention.

In an article published on the Google blog, the doodle-creator Leon Hong says he hopes “people decide to do more research after playing with the doodle and learn more about him.”
