Though a court order barred the electronic media from broadcasting CCTV footage of the German Bakery bomb blast, it remained available on the website for a long time. On Friday, the Pune police decided to take steps to take the footage off the website.

Speaking to journalists, Commissioner of Police Satyapal Singh said: “I have directed the ATS [Anti-Terrorism Squad] to do whatever is required to remove the footage from the website.”

“ATS working hard”

Amid speculation that the probe may be transferred to the National Investigation Agency as the ATS was not able to make any headway, Mr. Singh said the investigation was on the right track. The ATS was working hard on the case and had strong leads, he added.

Mr. Singh said the forensics science laboratory report — to ascertain the quantity of explosive and the triggering mechanism used — was still awaited.
