Virtual Reality is the next big thing that is already here. From Samsung, Google to Microsoft, every tech giant is now stepping up their VR game. Last year Samsung released its VR Gear. Oculus Rift, from Oculus VR owned by Facebook, is out with its head-spinning feature set. There are many more tech companies working on taking VR to the next level with add-ons to the headset to make your virtual reality feel much more real. Here is a list of some of the cutting-edge products that can go along with your VR headsets to ramp up the experience:
1) Turris by Praevidi is the world’s first virtual reality chair.
This chair is designed in such a way that you can experience your content from every direction. This gadget will allow the user to move freely in the virtual reality with the pivot-tracking motion sensors and enables them to be hands-free (input with Sixense Stem or Oculus Rift).Turris comes with a built-in PC which helps with the data connection -- no keyboard and mouse needed. All you need is a headset and the Turris to play VR games.
Praevidi has not yet revealed a release date for this device.
2) Tactical Haptics has a special controller that can make virtual objects feel like they actually have weight. This technology is compatible with all the motion-based controller interfaces. The grip of the controller has sliding contactor plates with the help of which you can feel the motion in the VR space.
How does the Tactical Haptics work?
This controller exerts pressure on the user's fingers to create sensations, which makes them like they are lifting, grabbing, pushing or doing any other action.
3) Infinadeck is world’s first omni-directional treadmill, which allows the users to walk and run is any direction when paired with a VR headgear. Infinadeck uses motorised components and a belt connected to a sensor which helps track the user’s movements. Since the belt has multiple bands it helps to walk in any direction.
4)The PrioVR: This is a full body motion-sensing, easy-to-wear suit for gaming and VR technology. It provides real-time tracking and enables the user to move with no limitations and no intervals. The device lets up to 10 people play at the same time, in the same space. The device comes in three versions Core, Pro, Lite all of them are wireless and are also compatible to each other.
The PrioVR’s sensors are placed at the key points of your body to capture the movements of the user.
You can pre-order the device at https://www.yostlabs.com/priovr.
5)Sixense STEM System: Sixense STEM (Sixense Tracking Embedded Module) System is a wireless modular motion tracking system. It is designed in such a way that it will capture the user’s every move. With the help of the device the user can pick things up in the VR world.
The company is also trying to create a cross-platform experience called ‘Siege VR’.
The controller is scheduled to be release in October 2016.
