Samsung Galaxy J3: One for the road

March 31, 2016 07:27 pm | Updated 07:30 pm IST

Samsung launched its Galaxy J3 variant in India on Thursday, priced at Rs. 8,990. Along with the usual bells and whistles, this Android smartphone comes with a special feature for bikers in India called the S-Bike Mode.

What does it do?

It automatically replies to incoming calls with a pre-recorded message, available in 14 languages, while the user is riding a vehicle.

Users can also mark a few contacts as important, so that they are notified about the calls even while riding.

How to activate the feature?

The user will need to “tap” the Samsung J3 smartphone on a NFC-enabled tag which needs to be fixed on the bike or the helmet.

What if it is an urgent call?

If it’s an urgent call, the caller can press ‘1’ to notify the user, and the user will get a message on the screen notifying about the call.

No cheating!

If the Motion Lock feature is activated, it restricts the bike rider from taking the call till the bike stops.
