Motorola launched the MotoG5S and the MotoG5S Plus dual-camera smartphones in India on Tuesday. The company announced during the launch event in Mumbai that the smartphone variants will go on sale at the Amazon India website on Tuesday at 11.59 p.m IST.

The Moto G5S is priced at Rs 13,999 and the Moto G5S Plus is at Rs 15,999. The phones will also be available at leading retail partners.

Moto G5S

This is an upgrade to the Moto G5 that was launched earlier this year. The phone, an Android 7.1.1, has a full metal unibody with a screen size of 5.2” Full HD screen. A significant upgrade from the phone’s earlier version is a 16 megapixel PDAF camera at the rear. The front has a 5 megapixel selfie camera with a flash. The phone comes with 4GB RAM with 32 GB storage, runs on 1.4 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon Octa Core processor, has an all-day battery with a turbo charger.

The phone comes in two colours, lunar grey and blush gold. It has a premium metal unibody, runs on 2 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon Octa Core processor, Android 7.1.1,with 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage (expandable up to 128 GB). What makes this phone unique is the two 13 megapixel cameras at the back. One has the RGB sensor and the other a Monochrome sensor.

The advantage with this camera is that one can take portrait shots by blurring the background and focusing on the subject. The phone is aimed at users who are more into photography as it would enable them to give more depth to pictures. The front camera also has a Panoramic mode which is good for taking a selfie with a large group in the background. If you click and move the phone around, the camera will take three pictures and stitch them together to form a large panoramic selfie.

The phone has a 5.5” screen, an all-day battery with a turbo charger. It also has the Night Display where the blue light can be toned down at night, making the display easier on the eyes at night.
