More than 4.40 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has so far arrived in various mandis of Haryana till yesterday and the entire paddy has been purchased by various procuring agencies and millers.
A spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said here today that out of the total arrival of paddy, 4,07,373 metric tonnes of paddy was leviable and 32,934 metric tonnes was non-leviable.
While the procuring agencies have purchased 3,65,612 metric tonnes of paddy, the millers and dealers have procured 74,695 metric tonnes of paddy. The minimum support price for common variety of paddy was Rs. 950 per quintal and that of Grade-A, Rs. 980 per quintal, he said.
He said that the Kurukshetra district was leading in the paddy arrival where 2,16,790 metric tonnes of paddy had arrived in the mandis, followed by Karnal, where1,01,375 metric tonnes of paddy had arrived in the mandis.
Food and Supplies Department had purchased 1,49,496 metric tonnes of paddy, Hafed 1,42,227 metric tonnes, Agro Industries 38,549 metric tonnes, Confed 31,346 metric tonnes, Food Corporation of India 615 metric tonnes of paddy and Haryana Warehousing Corporation 3,379, he added.
