I booked a compact house in February 2019 and there has been a one year delay in handover due to COVID. Recently I got the computation details from the developer to pay stamp duty and registration cost but surprisingly they have added GST and hence I am forced to pay an additional amount. I did check with a GST consultant and registration office in Adyar. They informed that stamp duty and registration is on property cost only and GST should not be added. I informed this to the developer but they are not accepting the same and stopped attending my calls. They are also not able to prove their calculations as they don’t have any written guidelines. Could you please check and confirm how I can get this sorted? They are cheating customers with additional charges.
