Travelling solo around the world

From the usual monotonous living, you suddenly realise that you are not living the life you want.

You decide to drop everything and go travelling around the world to find yourself. You begin to travel based on your desire not only to unwind and relax but also to explore new and fascinating places, to meet new people, to experience different cultures and, most of all, to learn more about yourself. Travelling is an indispensable way to discover things about the world that you would have otherwise never known.

While the idea of travelling solo has always existed, you can embrace travel and all its intricacies with open arms. There is nothing quite like discovering a new place on your own taking it all in without anyone but yourself. Solo travel gives you complete and utter freedom. Solo travel is a life-changing experience which makes you discover what kind of person you are and develop self-belief.

Travel is like love, mostly because it is a heightened state of awareness in which you are mindful, to be transformed. The great thing about travelling alone is that you are hyper-aware and nobody disturbs you. The spontaneity when you travel, serendipitous encounters, stumbling upon charming places and meeting people around the world empower you. It will make you rich beyond your wildest dreams in the currencies of knowledge, compassion, experience, memories, culture, passion, expression, confidence and so on.

Solo travelling is like spirituality; it liberates you from the messy structure of the world. It is freeing to see that the world is so limitless, so inviting beyond what you have always known. Solo travel can actually be one of the most rewarding ways to travel, which represents freedom and independence. And of course, wanderlust.

It is human nature to be cautious, but life truly begins when you step outside your comfort zone. Going it alone means you will have more cash to spend as you choose. Sort your items from the lightest to the heaviest and eliminate excess weight. Try to reach your destination earlier in the day. You go to a restaurant to ease into being solo and get comfortable in your own skin and let your thoughts wash over you as you explore a new destination. Pick a backpack or a cross-body sling bag, anything which keeps your bag in your view and leaves your hands free. Sure Google Maps is an absolute saviour when you are on the road. You may be clinging to a map like lifeline, but you are stronger than you give yourself credit for.

Carry a smartphone with a good camera and load it up with a local SIM that has a generous data plan to save your time, money, and effort. Install a panic button application on your phone and pre-program it to contact your emergency contact, with your location via an email or text message. Some apps can also constantly record and upload audio, video and location information. Use the selfie option on your phone or a selfie stick, a self-timer camera or a remote. When you are submerged in your solo travel adventures, it is best to stay connected to friends and family back home in uploading photos to Instagram, sharing Facebook updates or simply messaging via WhatsApp. It is smart to let people know where you are and where you are headed. There is only so much technology your iPhone can

help you with when embarking on a solo trip to destinations. Following your own rhythm is a great fun on a solo vacation. When you are travelling alone, the memories you make are unique to you and so record them to keep them alive.

Solo travel exposes you to raw experiences where you get to know the person inside you. Each new destination brings forth a wave of newness that is unmatched by anything back home. Being away from the comfortable bubble of your home will challenge you to learn how to rely on yourself at different times. It is good to leave plenty of room on a trip for whirlwind adventures and chance meetings, but you should be armed to which you get the opportunity to plan your own route and the places you want to visit. You can have options to connect like-minded people for an array of interests, including biking, spirituality, art, yoga, games and drinks. You will realise that it is you who creates the reality around you and it is significant to respect your own needs. Being on your own on the solo travel will help you gain valuable skills and turn you into a more confident person. Being alone on the travel is also a great way to connect with your higher self spiritually and enhance the relationship with yourself.

Nothing beats a solo adventure across the world for self-discovery. When you reunite with the natural world and be part of every beautiful place on earth, you tend to figure out many things with a scope for self-learning. Travelling solo allows you to open up your world view to many different cultures, backgrounds, and ways of life. An important aspect of solo travelling is a reflection- insight into what you love about yourself, what you want to change about yourself, and what you want to get out of life. It will lead you to your true destiny and guide you to not just achieve but also cherish the meaning of life. The most rewarding thing which solo travel presents to you is the self-connection and soul-connection. When you travel solo, a new silence goes with you and if you listen, you will hear what your soul might direct you toward the territories of spirit, where you will discover more of your hidden life. So, jump-start your transformation and soon, you will reap the benefits of travelling solo.
