The convenient dosa

September 16, 2011 02:11 am | Updated 02:11 am IST

The article “The many avatars of dosa” (Open Page, Sept. 11) took me down memory lane when I used to prepare cute kutti (mini) dosas, much to the delight of my school-going son who used to have them for lunch. I had a friend who was popular with her brother as she used to, and still does, make dosas in the shape of various countries. When the shape formed as expected, it was a delight.

The dosa is very convenient — you can make it in a jiffy and as much as required. Just when I turned off the gas stove, my son used to turn around and say, “Amma, your dosas are so crispy, can I have one more please?” I had to open the fridge, take out the batter and prepare another one. If an unexpected guest drops in at home, the dosa is always there to safeguard you!
