To be good in a bilateral relationship implies having the ability to assist the other nation during adversity and the maturity to desist from interfering during its moments of joy. India, instead of acting as a favourable ally, is playing the big brother to Nepal. We need to realise that such an approach is beyond our reach as we don’t have either the financial clout or the resources China has that allow it to assume such a role in its own neighbourhood. We need to be a good friend, not a bully to Nepal.
