Passing the buck

October 19, 2019 12:15 am | Updated 12:48 am IST

While the NDA has initiated some banking reforms, there is still a lot to do (“‘Passing the buck is no solution’”, October 18). It is admirable that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who was instrumental in liberalising the economy and creating employment, has conceded the faults of the UPA. People are no longer interested in listening to the BJP criticise the Congress. Instead of concentrating on emotive issues, Prime Minister Narendra Modi should imbibe confidence among the youth that the economy will be back on track. Dr. Singh’s admission that the Congress had voted for the withdrawal of Article 370 in Parliament shows that dragging this subject is no longer relevant. Mr. Modi should prove that the buck stops with his government instead of passing on the buck.
