No politics here

Social media has become so powerful that it is capable of making even the wisest look vulnerable (Page 1, “Pollachi sex scandal triggers outrage among politicians”, March 12). The heinous crimes perpetrated on unsuspecting women in Tamil Nadu leave one to wonder whether we still live in a civilised society. The case should be fast-tracked and the culprits given the maximum punishment. The political games over the plight of the victims will divert attention from the need for a fair investigation.
