Execution

The execution of the Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Mollah in Bangladesh on Thursday has come as an instance of how the law is above religion. This should be a benchmark in the history of justice. We have seen many hate-mongers and politicians spraying venom against a particular community, and easily getting away with it. It has been a failure on our part to come down on such people. The emergence of religious politics has worsened the situation. Bangladesh has always been talked about in India for all the wrong reasons, but now it is time we learnt something from our neighbour.
