Beyond alliance agendas

more-in

The problems of Jammu and Kashmir cannot be solved when there is evident bias in governance and political strategy or when the idea is that bullets will take care of everything (“ >Beyond alliance agendas in J&K”, Feb.3) It requires an open mind and a big heart. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered enough following terrorist attacks, a lukewarm response from the Centre towards the problems of the State, a lack of development and even nature’s fury. Every possible form of help should be extended to the people of Kashmir from all corners of the country. Kashmir appears to be losing out on revenue as far as tourism is concerned given its unsurpassable beauty and grandeur. It can be rated among the top international tourist destinations if there is a concerted move to usher in lasting peace in the Valley. The list of needs is long and requires the minute attention of all, and petty politicking is the last thing the State needs.
