With his vast experience, both as a cricketer and as an administrator, one is hopeful that Sourav Ganguly, as the new BCCI president, will infuse a certain degree of pride and prestige and restore the board’s fading image after the betting and spot-fixing scandals. For long the BCCI has been functioning in a whimsical manner. Things need to change, with more transparency and accountability in its operations.
