Agenda for Northeast

October 10, 2015 12:19 am | Updated 12:19 am IST

The ethnic communities in the Northeastern region of India have their own distinct cultures, food habits, faiths, social norms and practices (“ >In the Northeast, a sense of foreboding ,” Oct.9). It is a region with more diversity than unity. Conflict in States in the region on issues, ranging from language, identity, culture and religion, is a frequent activity. The BJP government’s plot to encroach into their personal priorities will only be a hindrance to Mr. Modi’s agenda for good governance and development.
