A hot house

Bengaluru is often called the ‘Garden City’ but its airport, Kempegowda International Airport, has very scant tree cover. While there are some flowering plants, the need is for trees. The parking area is devoid of trees. Even the shelters for passengers waiting for buses appear to have been designed unscientifically; they aid in the collection and capture of heat. When there are a number of shade-giving tree species that can be used, one wonders why the officials have not bothered to do anything. In an age of global warming, it is certainly not an offence to plant trees.
