On internet

November 17, 2010 11:31 pm | Updated 11:31 pm IST

The article "Where computer is god and internet the umbilical cord" (Open Page, Nov.14) should send a warning to the younger generation and parents. There is a saying in Tamil — alavukku minjinal amirthamum nanju (even elixir turns poisonous when taken in excess). The mindless use of the internet by the youth is a definite cause for concern. While there is no denying that the internet is a wonderful invention that has not only captured the imagination of people but is also of immense help to them, it is necessary to use it judiciously. The human touch is the biggest casualty of the internet.
