At a time when the dust has yet to settle over the ouster of Cyrus Mistry and the battle is still being fought at many levels, choosing N. Chandrasekaran, chairman of TCS, as the new head of Tata Sons is surprising (“TCS veteran picked to head Tata Sons”, Jan.13). The tea-to-software conglomerate has still failed to give specific and convincing arguments for Mr. Mistry’s removal across all Tata subsidiaries in a transparent manner except stating that the group under his leadership deviated from its core values.
