Descartes letter

June 25, 2010 03:14 am | Updated 03:14 am IST

The interesting piece on Descartes letter (Op-Ed, June 24) has a fun title, full of philosophical potential. The original title in The Guardian International edition (online) reads “Descartes letter exists, therefore it is found by websurfer.” Your fine editing has made for a pithy realist / materialist statement. A properly positivist version of this title was used for a similar story in the New York Times of February 25 that read, “Descartes letter found, therefore it is.” Fine writing from three fine newspapers.
