It’s taken her a while to climb on to the charity bandwagon or to figure out what she’d like to be associated with. But, for now, actor Priyanka Chopra has decided she is rooting for education, especially for the girl child. Chopra, who has been associated with other UNICEF programmes, has identified this as the closest to her heart. “It is sad to see how many girls are sent to work rather than school or getting married when they should be playing,” said she. She would like to eventually be able to visit the slums and talk to the girls to help themselves through education. “I have been involved with UNICEF on various projects and now, as their brand ambassador, I can officially lend my voice to the cause of education of the girl child,” said Chopra. She added that her parents had given the freedom to choose and do everything she wanted to. “”So please let your girls explore their potential and achieve it,” said Chopra in a plea to parents.
