Corrections and Clarifications - February 20, 2014

>> The caption of the standalone photograph, “ >Promoting farm food ” (Feb. 19, 2014, some editions), referred to a food festival in Kolkata co-organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry . Actually, it was the Indian Chamber of Commerce .

>> “ >No policy paralysis, asserts Chidambaram ” (Feb. 18, 2014) quoted the Finance Minister as saying “…, we have added … 39,144 kms of rural roads under Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojna …” It should have been 3,90,144 kms of rural roads.

>>A sentence in “ >A glimmer of Syrian hope ” (Editorial, Feb. 18, 2014) read: “Meanwhile, positions at Geneva II – where the parties were to start implementing the plan reached at Geneva I on June 30, 2013 – remain bitterly entrenched.” It should have been June 30, 2012 .

>>The last sentence of the report, “ >Interest burden set to overshoot subsidy bill ” (Feb. 13, 2014, front page) said: “The Central Statistical Office’s estimate for the rate of growth of GDP for the year is 12.3 per cent .” It should have said growth of GDP for the year at current prices .
