>> “In 2015, Ireland also became the first country to legalise same-sex marriage,” read a sentence in “Looking to a better tomorrow” (Perspective page, Feb. 1, 2016). It should have been recast to read as follows: “In 2015, Ireland also became the first country to legalise same-sex marriage by a nation-wide referendum .” Actually, Netherlands was the first country to legalise same sex marriage in 2001.
