>>A sentence in “Sanskrit deserves more than slogans” (Dec. 15, 2014, Comment page) read: “Not only is Panini’s Patanjali the world’s earliest work in linguistics and phonetics (…), there is no grammar as detailed or logical.” It should have been Panini’s Ashtadhyayi .

>>The report, “It is immaterial to us who wins or loses” (Dec. 15, 2014), said: “Eight constituencies each in Srinagar and Anantnag and two in the Jammu province went to the polls.” Actually, among the constituencies that went to the polls two were in Shopian district, six were in Anantnag, eight were in Srinagar and two were in Jammu.

>>The report, “Black money conundrum” (Dec. 14, 2014, Business Review), erroneously said Switzerland was not a member of the United Nations . Actually, Switzerland joined the United Nations in 2002.

>>In “J&K election to decide RS LoP” (Dec. 12, 2014), the opening paragraph said Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad’s term as an MP in the Upper House ends on February 15, 2015 . It should have been February 10, 2015 .

>>“India looks to Putin’s visit to lift sagging ties” (Dec. 8, 2014) said India and Russia are not expected to meet their [bilateral trade] target of $15 billion by 2015 . The correct figure is $20 billion . In fact, the target has been reset to $30 billion by 2025, says the correspondent.
