It should have read: “ >14 dead as militants target Assam market ”. The Editor has clarified that the mistake was made by the Editorial Desk and the reporter who filed the article was in no way responsible for the headline. He has also clarified that The Hindu regrets the headline and had no intention of offending the Bodo community.

>>The report, “ >Railway Board sets new goal after zones fail to meet target ” (August 8, 2016, some editions), erroneously referred to A.K. Mittal as Member (Mechanical) . Actually, he is Member (Engineering) .
