A report by 9to5Mac has revealed that iOS apps including Facebook, WhatsApp and Threads doesn’t have any Apple Intelligence available on them anymore. Meanwhile, Meta’s own Llama model powers most AI features like text and image generation in Meta apps. Last December, Instagram introduced new AI video editing features powered by Meta’s Movie GenAI model. Meta AI is also the default search bar on Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook. The Mark Zuckerberg-led company also uses public data from these platforms to train their own AI models. A report stated that Apple and Meta were in the middle of discussions about a potential partnership to bring the Llama AI model to Apple Intelligence, the deal fell through due to disagreements over privacy policies. Meta has a history of conflict with Apple over App Store guidelines and company’s rules around user data. Nvidia CEO stresses importance of ChinaNvidia CEO Jensen Huang said on Thursday that China was a very important market for Nvidia after the U.S. imposed a ban on sales of its H20 artificial intelligence chips to the country. “We hope to continue to cooperate with China,” Huang said in a meeting with Ren Hongbin, head of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, according to Chinese state broadcaster CCTV. China welcomes more U.S. companies including Nvidia to further explore the Chinese market, vice premier He Lifeng told Huang as the two met at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Thursday. China, with vast potential for investment and consumption, has always been “fertile ground” for investment and trade by foreign enterprises, He was quoted as saying by Xinhua. His visit comes at a time when the United States has put new restrictions on China-bound shipments of Nvidia’s H20 datacentre GPUs. Microsoft launches computer use of Copilot StudioMicrosoft has announced a new feature for Copilot Studio called “computer use” so AI agents can access websites and applications on their own. Companies can use Copilot Studio to build AI agents for themselves without needing to code. Users just need to type in what they want their agent to do in natural language, and then test and fine-tune the prompt to see the agent perform in a simulated mode. “With computer use in Copilot Studio, makers can build agents that automate tasks on user interfaces across both desktop and browser applications, including Edge, Chrome, and Firefox. Additionally, computer use runs on Microsoft-hosted infrastructure, meaning organizations don’t need to manage their own servers. Enterprise data stays within Microsoft Cloud boundaries and is not used to train the Frontier model,” Charles Lamanna, CVP of Business and Industry Copilot, said in a blog post. |
