Amit Shah announces BJP-JJP deal
BJP president Amit Shah announces that a deal has been reached between the BJP and the JJP. “BJP and JJP will form government together in Haryana,” Mr. Shah tells the media at his residence in the presence of JJP chief Dushyant Chautala and Mr. Khattar. While Manohar Lal Khattar will be Chief Minister, the JJP will get the Deputy CM post, Mr. Shah says.
Mr. Chautala says, “We believe our alliance was necessary for stability in Haryana.”
Chautala likely to be made Haryana Deputy CM
JJP leader Dushyant Chautala is likely to be made Haryana Deputy Chief Minister in the BJP-led government, which is set to take oath in a few days, sources say.
Mr. Chautala has reached BJP president Amit Shah’s residence in New Delhi. A deal between the two parties was clinched, the sources say.
Manohar Lal Khattar will be heading the new government.

Willing to support any party based on Common Minimum Programme: Dushyant Chautala
Jannayak Janta Party leader Dushyant Chautala said he was ready to support any party willing to take them along with a Common Minimum Programme.
Mr. Chautala said 75% reservation to Haryana youth in jobs and increase in Oldage pension were among the most important demands of the JJP.
He was speaking to the media persons in Delhi after the meeting of party's national executive.
BJP Legislative Party to meet on Saturday, stake claim to form govt. in Haryana
The BJP legislative party will meet on Saturday to elect its leader, a formality as the party has already decided that Manohar Khattar will head the next government. Mr. Khattar said he has got letters of support from Independent MLAs expressing confidence that he will prove his majority in the floor of the House.
Union minister Nirmala Sitharaman and BJP general secretary Arun Singh will attend the meeting as central observers, party general secretary Anil Jain said.
Don’t take support from Gopal Kanda, says Uma Bharti
In a series of tweets former Union Minister Uma Bharati cautioned BJP national president and Home Minister Amit Shah against accepting the support of legislator Gopal Kanda to form government in Haryana.
She recalled that Mr. Kanda is on bail and is accused of abetting a woman and her mother to suicide.
Tamil Nadu CM meets bypoll winners
Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami met the Vikravandi and Nanguneri bypoll election winners, AIADMK MLAs M.R. Muthamizhselvan and Reddiyarpatti V. Narayanan at his residence in Salem on October 25.
AIADMK co-coordinator and Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and coordinator and Deputy CM O. Panneerselvam described the victory as a “certificate of commendation” given by the people.
Nanguneri fell vacant following the resignations of H. Vasanthakumar of the Congress on his election to the Lok Sabha this summer, while the vacancy in Vikravandi arose in the wake of the death of K. Rathamani (DMK) in June.
Dushyant Chautala to meet MLAs, father in Tihar to decide on party's strategy after Haryana elections
Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) leader Dushyant Chautala, who has emerged as a kingmaker in Haryana, will meet his 10 legislators on Friday at his residence here to decide on the future course of the party.
He will also meet his father Ajay Chautala, who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail, before taking a final decision on the future course of action.
AIMIM chief thanks voters in Maharashtra, Bihar
Thanking all those who voted for the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in the Assembly elections in Maharashtra and the by-elections, its president Asaduddin Owaisi has hoped the Party would grow further in Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh and others.
AIMIM has won the Malegaon and Dhule Seats in Maharashtra, besides debuting in the Bihar Assembly with a win in Kishanganj.

Supporting BJP: Gopal Kanda
Haryana Lokhit Party MLA from Sirsa, Gopal Kanda, said he and as many as seven independent MLAs will be extending unconditional support to the BJP to form government in Haryana.
The BJP has ended six seats short of the majority mark needed to form the next government in Haryana, and therefore has set its eyes on roping in seven Independent MLAs, besides Gopal Kanda of the Haryana Lokhit Party and Indian National Lok Dal legislator Abhay Chautala to cross the majority mark of 46 in the 90-member House.
