MHA asks States to ensure safety of Kashmiri students

As reports of attack on Kashmiri students emerged from several places, Home Ministry asked all States to take necessary measures to ensure their safety and security. Kashmiri residents were targeted in several places to protest against the killing of 40 CRPF personnel in a terrorist attack in Pulwama on February 14.

Navjot Singh Sidhu removed from ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’

Following uproar over his remarks on Pakistan after the Pulwama attack in Jammu and Kashmir , Punjab Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu has been dropped from the popular “The Kapil Sharma Show” on television. According to a source close to the show, Mr. Sidhu will no longer be part of the Sony Entertainment Television comedy. The Punjab Minister, who has been for several years part of Kapil’s show, had on Friday during a media interaction, said, “Nations cannot be held responsible for the dastardly acts of terrorists.

Concern in Valley over ''threats'' to Kashmiri students, traders outside State

Concern prevailed on Saturday among the parents and relatives in Kashmir of the Kashmiri students and traders living in Dehradun and Haryana following alleged threats to them by mobs in the wake of the killing of 40 CRPF jawans in a terror attack on a convoy in Pulwama  on Thursday.

Army officer killed in IED blast near Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir

An Army officer was killed and a soldier suffered injuries in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on February 16, officials said. The IED was apparently planted by “enemy forces within Indian territory” in Naushera sector and set off when an Army officer, along with his men, was patrolling the area, they said.

All-party meeting resolution: in solidarity with forces in defending India’s unity

An all-party meeting on Saturday on the  car bomb attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama, Kashmir, on Thursday that killed 40 jawans  adopted a unanimous resolution to condemn terrorism and the support it receives from across the border. The meeting was presided by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

Iran asks Pakistan to move against attackers, warns Saudi

Iran urged neighbouring Pakistan on Saturday to crack down on militants who killed 27 of its Revolutionary Guards in an attack near the border or expect military action by Tehran “to punish the terrorists”, state media reported. Revolutionary Guards commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari also warned Iran's regional rival Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that they could face “retaliatory measures” for supporting militant Sunni groups that have attacked Iran's security forces. Riyadh and the UAE deny this.
