1. (C) PolOff delivered ref A points concerning UN 1267 Committee listing of Abdur Rahman Makki, Azam Cheema and Mohammad Masood Azhar Alvi to MFA International Organizations and Conferences Department UN Division Deputy Director Shen Yinyin January 20. PolOff noted U.S. intention to submit additional information (ref D) regarding these three individuals to the 1267 Committee and Pakistan's response to this information (ref C), called attention to UNSCR 1617 operative paragraph 3 as means to authorize the listing, and requested that the PRC not place a new hold on these three listings. Shen acknowledged that the PRC had not provided a definitive response to the additional information provided in October 2009 (ref B). She said the MFA would review the information provided in the context of UNSCR 1617 and provide a response as soon as possible.
