Rain, snow likely in Himachal

The weather in the hill state was by and large partly cloudy on Friday.

Thunderstorms accompanied by hail may hit Himachal Pradesh in the next 24 hours with light to moderate rain in the mid and low hills and snow in the higher reaches, the meteorological office said on Friday.

The weather in the hill state was by and large partly cloudy on Friday.

State capital Shimla recorded a high of 23.5 degree Celsius during the day, Dharamsala 21.5 degrees and Kalpa in Kinnaur district 20.3 degrees.

Keylong, the district headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti, recorded a low of 0.5 degrees, the lowest in the state. Kalpa recorded a low of 6.6 degrees, Manali 6 degrees and Dalhousie 12.3 degrees.

Dharamsala registered a low of 11.4 degrees, and Shimla 15.2 degrees.

According to the weather office here, western disturbances will be active in the region till March 27, resulting in more rain and snow.
