Somnath hospitalised; condition stable

The former Lok Sabha Speaker, Somnath Chatterjee, has been admitted to a private city hospital with chest infection.

According to Suman Ghosh, the medical superintendent of the hospital, Mr. Chatterjee was admitted on Saturday around 9 p.m. He has been given antibiotics and tests are being conducted. He complained of pain and discomfort in the chest. “He is under observation. However, his condition is stable and there is no cause for any worry” Mr. Ghosh said.
