The city police’s Special Task Force (STF) seized Rs.3,92,000 in fake currency from three persons here on Sunday. The accused seem to have cracked the security features that people normally look for, officials said. Rabiul Islam (42), Rabiul (32) and Muzibar Sheikh (25) were remanded to police custody until January 31 after being produced before a magistrate’s court on Sunday afternoon. “It is significant that the quality of printing of the fake notes is very high. They seem to have cracked all the security features that people normally look for, including the watermark and silver foil,” said Pranab Kumar, STF Deputy Commissioner.

In a separate incident, the police arrested Saumyo Chowdhury (27) at a mobile store in the southern part of the city for possessing fake notes.
