Actor Rajinikanth on Thursday called up DMK president M. Karunanidhi and apprised him of the improvement in his health. Rajinikanth, having undergone treatment for a couple of weeks in Singapore, was discharged from the Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre on Wednesday.

A DMK press release said here on Thursday that Rajinikanth contacted Mr. Karunanidhi over phone. The DMK chief was happy to hear about the actor's recovery and hoped that he would return to Chennai soon.

The actor told Mr. Karunanidhi: “You have faced many ups and downs and vicissitudes in life. It is important that you take care of your health and you should not be unduly worried over anything.”

The actor spoke to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Wednesday and congratulated her on her victory in the Assembly polls.
