Rescue operations resume in Meghalaya

Rescue operations to fetch at least 13 coal miners trapped in a water-filled cola mine in Meghalaya continued on Monday, with the Indian Navy and NDRF starting a joint operation at 10 a.m. The Navy requested the District Administration to assist in dewatering, so that the water level comes down to 30 meters or within the safe diving limit. After that, they will commence diving.

Former Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, accused in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case, will surrender on Monday before the Karkardooma court to serve the life imprisonment awarded to him by the Delhi High Court.
