The winter session of Parliament will commence on November 22 and scheduled to end on December 21. This was formally announced by Lok Sabha Secretariat on Thursday.

“The ninth session of the 15th Lok Sabha will commence on November 22. Subject to exigencies of government business, it is likely to conclude on December 21,'' a release from the Lok Sabha Secretariat said.

The issue of Lokpal Bill is expected to dominate the proceedings of the session. Social activist Anna Hazare has warned that he will go on a fast from the last day of the session if Parliament failed to pass legislation by then.

The Bill, was introduced during the last session, is now under the scrutiny of a Parliamentary Standing Committee.

The government, on its part, has been repeatedly stating that it was committed to get the Bill passed at the earliest after the panel gave its recommendations and after due discussions on the floor of the House.
