Train derails, many injured

A passenger train from Mumbai to Pratapgarh derailed near Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh on Monday, injuring many people, some of them seriously.

The accident occurred at 6 a.m. near Sourai, six km from Vidisha.

While three bogies of the Udyognagri Express overturned, four got off the track, disrupting the traffic between Bhopal and Delhi, informed sources said.

The seriously injured were brought to the Hamidia Hospital here.

Other injured were admitted to the Vidisha district hospital.

Local people helped in the rescue operations.
