Three killed in landmine blast in Rajouri

The area close to the Line of Control is full of explosive mines planted by the Armed forces and have been a regular cause for death and disability among civilians in the regions.

Three civilians were killed and one wounded in a mine blast in Rajouri area of Jammu district on Saturday.

The area close to the Line of Control is full of explosive mines planted by the Armed forces and have been a regular cause for death and disability among civilians in the regions.

Officials of J&K Police told The Hindu that three civilians were killed and another injured when an explosive device blasted near Saryam village in Nowshera area of Rajouri district.

“It was a mine blast which took the lives of the three people in the morning at around 9 in the morning today,” a police official told The Hindu . “The blast site is close to the LoC and the whole area has always been full of explosive mines.”

The wounded civilian has been shifted to hospital and sources said that he has suffered serious injuries.

Police also said that the slain civilians belonged to Bihar.
