‘Yadadri remains a promising district’

Spearheading development on various fronts, Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri remains a promising district with unique activities in progress, and most of them would become operational this year, District Collector Anita Ramachandran said on Saturday.

The project for large-scale renovation of Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple is almost at the completion stage and about 50% of the ₹ 1200 crore budget allocation has already been spent, she said delivering the Republic Day speech here.

“We have achieved the highest 90.95% polling in the State Assembly elections, got the Open-defecation free status for Bhongir and also stood third in Swacch Sarvekshan among municipalities in the southern States,” she said.

The district is already in the second position in horticultural in the State, and medical education through All India Institute of Medical Sciences at Bibinagar would start this year., for which more land was acquired and proposals have been submitted.

Officials said the district’s performance both in administration and law & order in the recent times were much recognised through awards like Best Electoral Practices Award to Ms. Ramachandran, and Indian Police Medal to Rachakonda Deputy Commissioner of Police E. Ramachandra Reddy.
