Woman dies of food poisioning, husband, son taken ill

A 37-year-old woman died, her husband and son were taken ill due to suspected food poisoning at Paladugu village in Wyra mandal in the wee hours of Sunday.

The police identified the deceased as T Bharathi, wife of Janakiramaiah, 45, a farmer of Paladugu. Sources said Bharathi and Janakiramaiah besides their son Raghavender, 15, developed nausea and abdominal pain a few hours after eating meal at their home late on Saturday night.

Bharathi died while being shifted to a hospital in Khammam in the small hours of Sunday.

Janakiramaiah and Raghavender were admitted to a private hospital in the town. Their condition was stated to be stable. Sources said that a dead lizard was found in the leftover curry, which the trio consumed on Saturday night.

The police are yet to determine the exact cause of Bharathi’s death.
