A middle-aged woman allegedly beat her husband to death with a boulder, after she was unable to bear constant harassment by the latter – a “habitual drunkard” – in Madhira town on Monday.
Sources said that R. Prakash Rao, 55, a labourer, allegedly came home in an inebriated condition late on Sunday night. He reportedly picked up an argument with his wife Meramma, 49, and thrashed her in a fit of rage when she objected to his habitual drinking.
Fed up with the incorrigible attitude of her husband, Meramma allegedly killed him by smashing his head with a boulder while he was fast asleep in the wee hours of Monday.
Their son was also present at home when the incident took place, police sources said.
A case has been registered against the woman.
