‘Will be celebrated like a festival’

May 29, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:55 am IST - NIZAMABAD:

Minister for Agriculture Pocharam Srinivas Reddy has said that the Telangana Formation Week will be celebrated like Diwali or Independence Day with much pomp and gaiety across the district, from June 2 to 7.

Cultural programmes, rallies, plays at Rajiv Gandhi Auditorium; literary activities such as kavi sammelanams at New Ambedkar Bhavan; felicitations to the bereaved families of Telangana martyrs and presentation of cash awards to persons who rendered great service in their respective fields would mark the celebrations.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, the Minister said that the celebrations would begin after paying floral tributes to the martyrs at the obelisk which is under construction at Vinayaknagar.
