The master plan for Warangal city would be made public on April 15, said Municipal Administration Minister K.T. Rama Rao.

Reviewing the city development at Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) office here on Wednesday, the Minister said a time period of 45 days would be set to seek suggestions from residents and also hear out their objections.

He was here to lay the foundation for the G+3 housing for the poor at Shayampet and a series of development works in the city. He took part in a review meeting along with Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari, and held talks with the district officials and representatives of various consultancy firms.

Mr. Taraka Rama Rao stressed the need for a lake protection committee, considering the several lakes under the jurisdiction of KUDA, and said the panel should be entrusted with the job of identifying and removing encroachments.

The consultants proposed an inner ring road in addition to the outer ring road, keeping in view the needs of the growing city.

He sought a review of the transportation system in Warangal and said that the Mamnoor airport would also be reconditioned to make it functional.

“Another review meeting on the master plan would be convened by Mr. Srihari on April 10 and it will be published for public scrutiny for 45 days.

Citizens are invited to send in their objections and suggestions,” he said.

Roads and Buildings Minister T. Nageshwara Rao, Tourism and Tribal Welfare Minister A. Chandulal, Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, Mayor N. Narender and KUDA Chairman Marri Yadava Reddy were present.

The public representatives later left for Mahabubabad district where they laid the foundation stone for the Collectorate and district police office.
