Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Saturday released the Bharatiya Janata Party’s manifesto for the Khairatabad constituency where the party has fielded sitting MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy.
“The manifesto is the real thing and not a bunch of broken promises like those of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Your vote for the BJP would be a revenge for not delivering on the two-bedroom houses you have been promised,” said Mr. Singh, who hit the campaign trail in Telangana.
He said a vote for the BJP candidate would be a vote for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “There have been 4,800 farmer suicides in the State. What has the Chief Minister done over the past four years? The manifesto for Khairatabad promises breakfast for 8,000 school-going children and shoes. It also promises clinics for diabetics. If you want these initiatives, you should vote for BJP,” said Mr. Singh.
Chintala Ramachandra Reddy won the Khairatabad constituency in the 2014 elections with a margin of 20,846 by defeating Danam Nagender of Congress. This year, Danam Nagender is contesting the election from here on TRS ticket while Congress has fielded Dasoji Sravan Kumar.
Special Correspondent writes from Yellareddy: Mr Singh said Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had deceived unemployed youth by not providing employment and farmers by not giving MSP. Addressing a meeting at Yellareddy of Kamareddy district, he said Mr. Rao before, coming to power, had promised to give at least one job for each family, but hardly provided 30,000 jobs.
